The
GR01
is a planetary gearbox and DC motor combination designed to provide a high power, compact and easily mounted electric drivetrain solution. The motor is ideal for a wide range of applications from robotics through to special effects.Recent changes to the design (27/2/12 onwards) include an increase in the thickness of the front body section, providing greater rigidity and shaft support (see here for diagram), and a slight widening of the distance from front to rear mounting points.
If not mounting the motor by its front face a bearing cover is advised to ensure the bearing does not work loose. We stock a suitable cover here.

The GR01 is sold fully assembled with the gearbox pre-lubricated and a 20mm long reverse threaded screw included. The motor is available either with plain tabs (as pictured above), or soldered 200mm silicone insulated leads (black & red), or 100mm leads with a male 'Deans' type connector. Spare motors are available here.
