Terms and Conditions of Sale
Trading Name: Gimson Robotics Legal Owner: Ewan Gimson
General
The online shopping basket (link at top right) has standard options for delivery only within England, Scotland and Wales. For international orders please see this page for details on how to pay for shipping.
We try to make sure that all product descriptions and specifications are as accurate as possible, but if you find an error or would like clarification on an item please contact us.
We are not obliged to send out an order until we have received payment in full - i.e. if you pay by cheque you will have to wait before the cheque clears with us before we send out your order (online credit/debit card payment through PayPal or Google Checkout is typically instant). We will send out your order as soon as possible after your payment has cleared, typically within 1-2 working days.
By making a purchase with Gimson Robotics you are agreeing fully with all of the terms on this page.
Privacy
We do not pass on any of your information to anyone else without seeking your direct approval in every case. We ask for your name, address and email address when you place an order. We use your email address as a location to send your order confirmation and as a means to contact you at short notice should any order problems occur. You may give us a contact phone number too if you wish, but this isn't mandatory.
We may email you to inform you of product/store developments but only if you have said this is OK through the check box at the order form/checkout stage.
Liability
Some applications for our products can lead to excessive loading beyond the design parameters of the product - we are not liable for damage or faults caused by unreasonable use. We can provide advice as to whether a product is suitable for your project - please contact us with your question(s).
All of our products are perfectly safe and should perform as described on the product pages provided they are used correctly.
Prices
We are currently a small enough business to be below the UK revenue threshold for value added tax (VAT). This means you will not be charged VAT on your order (and VAT is not reclaimable if you are purchasing on behalf of a business).
If you have a promotional code you can enter it during the cart/checkout stage to claim your discount. Promotional codes will expire after a set date. This date should be clear on any publicity documents related to the promotion.
Delivery/Shipping
Please see this page for details on our postage and shipping options in the UK.
International customers should refer to this page.
Payment
Our two main choices of payment processor are PayPal and Google Checkout/Wallet through which you can pay with a range of Debit and Credit cards (and you do not need an account to do so). If you've got a PayPal account you can also pay through your bank account or with stored credit. This method is entirely secure and operated over an encrypted connection so you can be sure your details are kept safe.
We can also accept order payment by cheque or postal order by post- please email us your order in this case and we can offer 3% discount on your order (as we do not have to pay transaction fees). We are not liable for any payment method lost in transit before it reaches us.
Complaints/Returns
In the event that you are unhappy with our service please contact us with your complaint and we will try to resolve the problem as soon as possible. We aim to provide the best possible service and will endeavour to amend any problems as quickly and effectively as possible. We may offer a full refund (excluding postage and packing) on a faulty product if it is returned in as-sent condition and we can be sure the fault did not occur through misuse. Your statutory rights are not affected.
